You subscribers know the P-40 is our favorite aircraft and here is another beautiful example.
This one is a P-40N (44-7369, NL40PN) painted in vintage P-40B and P-40E Flying Tiger
markings, and is a tribute to General Charles Rankin Bond, Jr.  Bond is a native of Dallas, TX,
who flew with the American Volunteer Group (AVG) prior to the US entrance into WWII.  As
a Flying Tiger he was credited with 9 aerial victories against the Japanese.  Photos taken at
NAS Corpus Christi air show on April 14, 2007.
A special US Navy Legacy Flight brought old and new trainers together for a special flight.
The prop aircraft is a T-28C Trojan (140581, N666GR) marked in the colors of VT-5 off
the USS Lexington, while the jet aircraft is a T-45C Goshawk (165644) from Training Air
Wing Two (TW-2).  On the Friday before the show, the Trojan flew over the deck of the
USS Lexington museum which is moored at Corpus Christi.
