Pictured on these next two pages is a Nieuport 24 (261, N333EL) replica.  We
don’t know for sure (shame on us) but we believe this was made from a kit.  There
are companies like Airdrome Aeroplanes in Holden, MO, that will sell you a kit to
make this aircraft and many more.  If you like World War I aircraft, check out their
website at www.airdromeairplanes.com.  It’s a fascinating site that has a lot of
historical information on biplanes and triplanes.
Our January 2008 Issue Focuses on Two
Very Special Pilots, a Local Airshow, and
a Special Organization:
  • An interview with aerobatic queen,
    Patty Wagstaff.
  • Coverage and photo spread of the
Grand Old Air Show at Brookaven-
    Calabro Airport.
  • Warbird Spotlight showcases the UH-
    34D Seahorse resurrected from the
graveyard by the M.H.S. 361 Veterans
    Association.
  • A special interview with a WWII ace, L.
Kirk John who flew the Mustang in
    Europe.
  • Along the Way spotlights an F-4C
Phantom II (64-0683)  located at the
    Heath-Newark Airport, Ohio.
Our good friends from Warbirds over Long Island teamed up with American Airpower’s
FG-1D Corsair ‘Skyboss’ (67089, NX83JC).  Chris Baranaskas leads the flight (and solos
in the photo below) in the P-51D ‘Glamorous Gal’ (44-13903, NL751RB) with the Corsair
on his right wing, and his Dad, Bob Baranaskas on his left wing in the P-40N Warhawk (44-
7638 marked as 41-1456, N740RB).  His Warhawk is also shown in flight on page 31.  It
is marked in the colors of Robert L. Scott, an ace in WWII who flew with the famous Flying
Tigers, and who wrote the book, God is My Co-Pilot.
