Who We Are:
We have had requests wanting to know more about the people who work at our magazine.  No,
the requests did not come from my in-laws or the FBI.  All you really need to know about us is we
are a bunch of working stiffs chasing a dream of publishing a national magazine dedicated to the
men, women, and machines in the aviation world.  We are written for aviation fans by aviation
fans.  Our photographers have over 200 years combined experience in photographing aircraft.

Our Focus:
Though our forte is covering air shows and aviation museums, we delve into warbird and
squadron histories, and showcase the most important aspect of aviation - the people.  Whether
it's the volunteer at the NMUSAF who spends all day with a putty knife in his hand scraping flakes
of old paint off the Memphis Belle, or someone like Nancy Lynn who died while performing at an
air show.  It could be a medal of honor winner like 'Hammering Hank' Elrod, or the technicians at
the Fighter Factory who prepare, restore, and maintain the warbirds that fly at air shows.  We love
talking to people at the shows and museums, and, of course, we love to take photos.

Equipment:
Some of our fans want to know what equipment we use.  Most of us, myself included, use Canon.
And before you ask, we are not compensated in any way by Canon, but if you know someone
who works there, we are not immune to freebies (to advance the cause of photography, of
course).  I use two Canon 30D bodies with three lenses: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Ultra-Wide Zoom, Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom, and my trusty Canon
EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.5 IS USM Telephoto.  All the lenses have Tiffen UV filters and our memory
cards are Sandisk Ultra IIIs.  Though I seldom use a flash, I do carry a Canon Speedlite 580EX
with me for those special occasions, such as photographing the inside of a darkened cockpit.
